Who’s Teaching?
Instruction at X-Golf Frisco is led by Jason Cole, a PGA Professional and founder of J Cole Golf. Jason has over 20 years of experience and has taught more than 46,000 lessons. He graduated from Campbell University’s PGA Professional Golf Management program and focuses on swing analysis, mechanics, and player development.
His coaching style is data-driven. He uses simulator technology to show you exactly what’s happening with your swing, then builds a plan based on what he sees.
The Lesson Starts with Questions
Before you swing anything, your instructor will ask about your background. What’s your experience with golf? Have you played other sports? What do you want to get out of lessons? Do you have any injuries or physical limitations?
These questions help Jason understand where you’re starting and where you want to go. Someone preparing for league play needs different guidance than someone who just wants to feel comfortable at a company golf outing.
Grip, Stance, and Setup Come First
You won’t hit balls right away. Your instructor will look at how you hold the club, how you stand, where your feet are pointed, and how your body is aligned to the target.
These basics affect every shot you’ll ever hit. A lot of players see immediate improvement just from small adjustments here. You don’t need new equipment to get started. Jason works with whatever clubs you have.
Swing Work with Real-Time Feedback
Once your setup looks good, you’ll start hitting balls. The focus is on simple, repeatable movements. Jason will break your swing into smaller pieces and explain what the club should be doing at each point.
X-Golf’s simulator captures data through high-speed cameras and sensors that track club path, ball speed, launch angle, and contact point. You’ll see your ball flight on screen and get instant numbers on carry distance, spin rates, and swing path direction. This feedback helps you connect what you feel with what’s actually happening.
For players who want deeper analysis, Jason uses V1 swing analysis software to record your swing from multiple angles. You can watch your motion frame by frame, compare it side by side with previous swings, and see exactly where adjustments need to happen. This is the same software used by tour professionals and top instructors across the country.
You’ll Leave with a Plan
At the end of the lesson, Jason will recap what you worked on and give you specific things to practice before your next session. You’ll know exactly what drills to do and what to focus on.
The goal is for you to walk out with clear direction, not a list of 20 things to remember.
