X-Golf uses our own proprietary simulator technology called the NEX system.
Unlike other indoor golf facilities that license third-party technology, we spent nearly 20 years developing our own advanced sensor technology, graphics engine, and automation systems from scratch.
The NEX system combines high-speed laser sensors, light sensors, camera technology, and club impact position tracking—all working together to create the most accurate indoor golf experience possible.
Here’s exactly how our technology works and what makes it different.
The Technology Behind X-Golf’s NEX Simulator System
Most golf simulators use a single sensor—maybe a camera or a radar unit—and hope it catches everything. X-Golf takes a different approach.
We built the NEX system around three specialized sensors, each designed to capture different aspects of your shot. One sensor tracks ball flight. Another measures speed. A third identifies exactly where the club hits the ball.
The Three-Sensor System
High-Speed Light and Laser Sensor tracks your ball’s direction and speed the moment it leaves the clubface. It captures the trajectory data that determines where your shot goes.
High-Speed Camera Sensor measures ball speed with up to 98% accuracy. The camera runs at high frame rates to record the exact velocity of every shot.
Club Impact Position Sensor identifies the exact spot where your club meets the ball—toe, heel, or center of the face. This sensor is what sets X-Golf apart. We’re one of the only simulator systems in the world that can measure impact position.
Processing Power: The X-Golf Controller
All three sensors feed data into the X-Golf Controller, a powerful computer system that processes information in real-time and delivers instant feedback to your screen without lag.
This combination of multiple sensors and serious computing power is what enables X-Golf to replicate every shot type accurately—from towering drives to delicate pitch shots.
X-Golf’s Unique Automation Features: The X-Ball System
The X-Ball system automatically retrieves and tees up your ball after every shot. No bending down, no manual setup between swings.
Press the yellow button and a ball appears at your preferred tee height. The system adjusts down to the millimeter and remembers your setting for the entire round.
Each player in your group gets their own saved height preference. When you step up, your ball tees at your height. When the NEX player goes, theirs loads automatically.
It’s a simple feature that keeps the game moving without any manual work.
Why X-Golf Built Their Own Simulator Instead of Using Existing Technology
Most indoor golf facilities license someone else’s technology and build around it.
X-Golf did the opposite.
We spent nearly 20 years developing our own system because existing simulators couldn’t deliver what serious golfers needed. Off-the-shelf technology meant compromising on accuracy, automation, or experience.
What proprietary technology gave us:
- Full control over sensor integration and shot replication
- The club impact position sensor—one of the only systems that measures exactly where the club hits the ball
- Automation features like X-Ball that work together seamlessly
- Direct control over updates and improvements across all facilities
We don’t wait on a third-party vendor to add features or fix issues. When we develop new technology or refine our algorithms, every X-Golf facility benefits immediately.
The result is a simulator designed for the commercial indoor golf experience—not a home system adapted for business use.
